How Much Should a Website Actually Cost in Zimbabwe? (2026 Breakdown)

How much does a website cost?" is one of the most common questions I get, and it's a fair one — pricing in this industry can feel like a black box. Here's a transparent breakdown, using real numbers, not vague ranges.
Signpost — $25/year. This is the entry point: a 2-page site with your business info, a free .co.zw domain, hosting, and a WhatsApp ordering button, live within 24–48 hours. It's built for one job — making sure that when someone Googles your business, something real shows up. If you're currently relying entirely on word of mouth and a WhatsApp number, this is the smallest possible step that actually changes that.
Basic — $80. A proper small website: up to 4 pages, mobile-first design, a contact form, basic SEO and Google Business setup, and — importantly — an admin panel so you can edit your own text, prices, and photos without calling a developer every time something changes. Good for startups, CVs, and portfolios that need to look legitimate.
Standard — $200. Everything in Basic, plus up to 7 pages, a blog/CMS built into that same admin panel (so you can publish your own updates), a portfolio or testimonials section, and stronger SEO. This is the tier most growing businesses actually need — enough room to tell a fuller story without paying for e-commerce you're not ready to use yet.
Premium — $370. Up to 12 pages, a full e-commerce store with payments, a booking system, WhatsApp API integration, and custom UI/UX design. Built for businesses ready to actually sell and take bookings online, not just be found.
Why the range, and why it's worth it compared to the alternatives: A $20/month page-builder subscription (Wix and similar) adds up to roughly $240/year — every year, forever, and your site disappears the moment you stop paying. Every PHYB package is a one-time build fee (Signpost is the exception, deliberately kept as a low annual cost since it's the cheapest possible way in) — after that, you're only paying for domain + hosting renewal, roughly $45/year from year two, regardless of tier.
What determines where you should start: if you just need to stop being invisible on Google, Signpost. If you need a real presence with room to edit it yourself, Basic or Standard. If you're ready to actually sell or take bookings through the site, Premium.
There's no single "correct" price for a website — but there is a correct question, which is what you actually need it to do. Once that's clear, the price follows.
